On December 13, 2023, the order of the Minister of Science and Innovation and the President of the State Research Agency was published, granting aid corresponding to the 2022 call for knowledge generation projects and actions to the training of predoctoral research personnel associated with said projects, within the framework of the State Program to Promote Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023.
In this order, the coordinated project Climatically Smart Cork Oaks (ACICORK): Tools for forest management and monitoring, the characterization of cork and the fight against Seca (P.cinnamomi) PID2022-141973OR was financed.
The main objective of ACICORK is to design a climate-smart forest management strategy adapted to the cork value chain by developing and improving innovative tools for forest management of new cork oak production systems using geospatial techniques.
